I started my outdoor adventure journey many years ago in the great Pacific Northwest. From the first steps in hiking boots to the first swing of the ice axe I knew that the outdoors brought me deep joy. I have since then seen the summits of Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Adams, Mt. Rainier, and countless hikes and backpacks. The next step on my mountaineering journey will be to the Himalayas and a climb of Lobuche East in the Spring of 2016.

The blog is dedicated to everyone planning those first steps outdoors, the big adventures, or still working to find the courage to get out there. I hope to encourage others through sharing my learnings, breakthroughs, occasional setbacks, gear advice, and other notes from the outdoors. Together we will become the climbers, hikers, backpackers, cyclists, and outdoor adventures we are meant to be. I am out there almost every weekend with a pack on my back, boots or skis on my feet, or a cycle on the road. I commit to sharing these adventures as I go and would love to hear about yours.

There is a wide and amazing world out there waiting for us to experience and explore. I look forward to seeing you on the trail.
